How to play Texas Hold’Em Poker
Step 1: To start playing, you need to place your initial bet called ante’ or something similar. The ante is usually a small bet and decided by the table how much everyone has to play.
Step 2: Once everyone has placed their initial bet, the dealer will deal two cards to each player. Make sure these cards are concealed from your rivals at the table.
Step 3: After receiving the cards, you may decide if you want to bet or not. Each player will take turns to place their bet. In a betting round, you may do the following actions:
- Fold – In poker, folding means you will withdraw from the round and discard the hand you’re currently holding.
- Check – Check-in poker means you’ll be matching your opponents’ bet.
- Raise – Raising in poker means you’ll be adding more money greater than the amount you’re supposed to wager.
Step 4: Once all of the players placed their wagers, the dealer will reveal three cards. These three cards are known as the ‘flop’. When you see these cards, you must start planning what hand you want to make, while remembering that there are still two more cards to be revealed.
For instance, if your hand has both diamonds, and did the flop include two diamond cards? In that case, you could aim for a flush, a hand where you have five cards of the same suit.
Step 5: After the flop, all of you have the chance to bet again, before the dealer reveals the next card, which is the “turn.”
Step 6: If you are feeling lucky, you may want to bet again, then the dealer will reveal the “river” which is the last card.
Step 7: Once the river is dealt with, the final betting round will begin. During this round, players need to make the best hand using the two hole cards and five community cards.
Step 8: Now, all of the players can bet for one last time before revealing their cards in hand. During this round, your goal is to have the highest hand possible out of the seven cards placed by the dealer.
